A Green and Yellow Basket

This small basket is woven from two species of dried river reed to make the contrasting pattern of green and yellow. Local couples have exchanged these baskets for generations as part of formal courtship.  The basket is made to hold a letter addressed to someone you know well and one object measuring no more than three inches in any dimension and valued at no more than 1 gp.

As a bonus action, you may drop the filled basket which disappears with its contents as soon as no creatures are observing it. The basket and its contents reappear 1d12 days later in front of the person to whom the letter is addressed. The basket will often appear mysteriously, such as ahead of the recipient on an empty path or where the recipient was sure nothing was a moment before. Once it appears to the recipient, the magic is spent, and the green reeds fade to yellow, leaving a small nonmagical yellow basket.
